hello im sort of new to fish keeping ive had my tank set up for about 6months , i have 5 clown loach in the tank 4 are thriving very chunky etc but 1 hasn't been out its just been in the boat ship wreck with air rock built into it, today i got it out and have put it in an isolation tank in the main tank but it didn't even try to swim away when i went to net it, just as though it just couldn't be bothered, didn't flap about or anything, then when i had it in the isolation tank i put some food in to try and get it to eat but it just isn't interested, when i took the food out it didn't even flinch at my hand being right at the side of it, looking at it it seems healthy and chunky etc only thing i noticed is that it nose seems abit red and its gills are moving quickly but no red gills or anything, has anyone any ideas?

thanks in advance

I've never kept them, but some friends of my have.  I seem to remember them spending a lot of time (most of their time) hidden in the log/caves.  That doesn't really help, but for future info...

What are the tank conditions? What is the ammonia and nitrite readings in the main tank and the isolation tank?

Also the size of the tank in litres, clown loach do hide in caves but your description does sound like the fish in question is ill.

My Clown Loaches come to the front for food but will dart on sudden movement. They're very hyperactive so it definitely sounds poorly! Poor mite - have you witnessed any bullying behaviour from the others?

the tank water is a1 i even took a sample to the fish shop and they said its good quality water and everything is spot on, the main tank is 250 litres, originally when i separated the fish this afternoon i put him in a separation tank so i could keep him in the main tank as my isolation tank doesn't have a heater in it, ive since put him in the little tank at 23degrees as thought anything is worth a tryand he is doing well now in with my fighter swimming around etc Duno what is wrong if anything is

i came home from work today and 1 of my dragon gobys has died, gutted, so did a water test and i got ph 7.4, ammonia 0, nitrite 0,nitrate 10ppm has anyone any idea why my dragon has died as he was bouncing about happy last night?

thanks in advance
