Clown Loach Help Please

Hello people Iv lost two of my clown loach to day.
I would just like some one to shed some light on why they may of died.
I got three of them at the same time from a good fish shop near me all the fish looked ok and were very well to start with but two of the three got very big very fast there gills were moving fast. Then they were hiding all the time.

A week later they were not eating or swimming its like they were drunk and falling over all the time. A week after that (to day) one of them were dead so I tuck out the other one and need what I think was best I put him in a jar with tank water and I few drop's of clove oil.

My water is ok


Nitrite NO-2 = 0.0
Nitrate NO-3 = 60pph
Wide range PH = 7.4
Ammonia NH3/NH+4 = 0.0

clove oil is the worst way to kill a fish, the best is to sever the head from the body or drop in a jug of ice and water

I fish book I have says that clove oil is the lease pain way I will find the book.

No ideas why they got ill?

Why kill it at all? it could have recovered

The other fish were trying to eat it there was know way it could of recovered I was just about dead.
