So yesterday morning I woke up to see my clown loaches have laid a batch of eggs. They've all been fertilised. Strange to see this from 2 inch clowns. So they've laid them on the intake of the internal filter. Have a fairly big fahaka puffer in with them which they all get along.

I will be updating this thread every couple of days. Think today I will go buy another filter and pop the filter they laid eggs onto into a breeding net to keep them away from the pleco. Does anyone have any better ideas to keep the eggs from being sucked into the filter when they become wrigglers?

Hi thats interesting - clown loach breeding is quite rare in aquariums. Other than the Fahaka what other fish do you have in there?

Just a note on the Fahaka, sorry I know you didnt ask, but at some point it is going to turn aggressive and eat its tank mates. They are really a wet pet fish not a community one, dozens of people have tried mixing them and I reckon its less than a 1% success rate and things escalate really quickly.

Have you cory's in the tank?
I don't think 2 inch clown loaches will spawn, what other fish are in the tank?
I've got 1 puffer fish, 3 clown loaches and 1 pleco. The clown is protecting the eggs.

I know clown breeding isn't common in the hobby. But they've spawned. Will update when they're wrigglers. They've all fetalised. Only 2/3 have whited.

Looking forward to seeing the fry
