my water has been a bit cloudy this week, well its kinda light foggy looking, but noticeable enough for me to notice.lol.

does anyone know why this might be?

im doing water changes twice a week with the gravel vac, probably about 20% per water change.
the only thing thats changed is the dechlorinator im using. ive changed from api tap water conditioner to api stress coat with tap water conditioner. just happens that thats what i picked up.

ive had the tank up and running now for i guess 6 weeks. This was with a fish cycle starting with danios. So far ive only changed the white sponge. Im sure ive read somewhere its best to leave the other sponges for at least 8 weeks so they can mature?
should i be cleaning them in tank water?

i cant think of anything else that might cause this? i was over feeding slightly but have cut down on that drastically.

oh its a jewel rio 125 aquarium with the standard filter

any thoughts?

Cloudy water bacterial bloom.
Over feeding.
Lack of maintainance.
Meds can send the water cloudy.
Can add filter floss that removes fine particles.
Filter wants a clean but not the sponges.
Filter not up to the job.

I had a cloudy tank for two weeks, just out of no where, wouldn't clear up no matter what I did. I changed the water and it was green when i took it outside in the sunlight, but was milky in the tank. Dropped some algea killer in the tank and after 2 hours it was rediculously crystal clear, so clear it was jaw dropping.
Cheack your water color under sunlight, it might actually be green.

Worth a try.

well i did a big gravel vac and it seems to have cleared up. think i was still overfeeding at the gravel was full of rubbish, even tho i gravel vac it twice a week!
