Cloudy Tank

I have an aqua one 40 litre tank.
I keep 7 fish in the aquaium.
Just lately it has become very cloudy,
I have carried out 2 50% water changes
in the last week but the water doesn't
seem to be clearing.

Can you oost water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
How long has the tank been set up.

The tank is over 4 months old haven't had any problems until this.
I have 2 guppies,2 xray tetra,2 cardinal tetras and a bristle nose plec.
so 7 in total

I havn't got any ammonia,nitrate and ph figures i am afriad.

It's abit on the overstocked size.

You need to get your water tested.
Take a sample of your water to the lfs and ask them to write the readings down for you.
I would strongly suggest you invest in some liquid test kits of your own.

For now water change and increase aeration.

How often do you maintain the tank.
Do you over feed.

Have had the water tested at a local tropical fish shop and they say the water is ok.
They recommended getting another filter so have taken their advice and brought an aqua one 101f.
He suggested that i might have cleaned the stones too much removing too much bacteria(I presently have an under gravel filter.

Sorry didn't answer your question propably. I clean the tank and do a 25% water change every other week.Although because of the cloudiness i have done 2 50% water changes in the last 10 days I feed the fish a small pinch of tetra prima mini granules every other day.

It sounds like you have a bacteria bloom.

Do you do weekly gravel vacs?
