hi ,

can anybody help please?

just bought 2 pairs of bolivian rams(lovely fish).1 of the females appears to have an opaque cylindrical pyramid ( if that makes sense ) on both eyes, the cloudyness seems to get slightly denser towards the centre of the eye.

any ideas please,,,i am hoping that in good water quality that it may dissappear on its own.

thanks,
john

As said cloudy eyes are normally a sign of poor water quality, check your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels and do corrective water changes if needed. Ammonia and nitrite should both read 0 and the nitrates should be below 40ppm .

hi al

thanks for replies, i wil keep an eye on things. i only bought these fish a day or 2 ago and noticed the cloudiness when i released fish from bag.i am hoping things may settle down now they are in my tank which has 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and about 5-10 nitrate. and a temp of 26 degrees.

thanks for help ,will keep an eye on other threads about this topic,

john

Melafix compounded with extra water changes shoudl clear that up within a week.
