Cloning Filters

how long will it take for a filter to be cycled if running it in my mature tank ?

and when this filter has got all the bacs it needs its going into a coldwater setup will the sudden change in temps cause a mini cycle?

Approx 4 weeks and providing its not really really cold water then no it shouldnt have any effect on the bacteria. (just remember to dechlor the water of the tank its going in before tranferrring it!)

ive already filled the tank yesterday so it will be room temp in a months time

Oh room temp, then definately no worries.

Be easier to just transfer some of the sponge media from the mature tank into the new filter.
