Cleaning Second Hand Tank

Hi i have a tank i need to clean the glass its covered in algea to much to leave on
so far i no, no soap or anything treated, i was wondering if the cheep spounges with the green pads on was ok to scrub the glass?
or is there something better to use

i dont want to use anything i shouldnt

those pads will be fine. Just use them with tap water and they should remove the algae for you.

can use vinegar in small amounts to clean tanks also

I use vinegar for cleaning tanks as well, it does a pretty good job

Just aa thought will the scourer scratch the glass ?

Try one on a drinking glass, if it does not scratch that it wont scratch the tank

As you've already used soap, make sure you thoroughly wash it out afterwards as even the tiniest little bit of residue left afterwards can be deadly for fish.
