Cleaning Sand

hiya all

well i had gravel but i just put new sand in the bottom. i cleaned it all in a bucket ect so safe to use..

but what i need to knw is how do i clean the bottom off my tank now, with my gravel i used the gravel pump.. but with sand well u guessed it - sucks it up lol

i got 3 corys on the bottom but i would still like to try and keep it clean as best as i can so i dont get a dirty looking tank

take the big bit off the end of the gravel vac and just use the pipe. get it about an inch above the sand so it doesnt suck it up and swirl it around in small cicrles. this will swish the poo and uneaten food etc into a small whirl pool and up the tube into your bucket. it takes a bit of practice but you will get used to it.
