Cleaning Of White Deposits In A Marine Tank

I have White deposits on my tank,protein skimmer etc and am lookin for a way to get them of I tryed using a blade but it doesn't take it all of have yous any suggestions on what I could do or use??
I heard using White vinegar could work but before I use it I want to make sure it will not harm my tank in the future
PS their is nothing in the tank yet it it empty !

Well I wouldn't clean anything whilst 'in situ' but if you can remove the items then yes this is fine - put them in a bucket and let them soak. Just remember to rinse everything thoroughly before putting it back in your tank

I mean don't just chuck vinegar into your tank!

You need to remove anything that needs cleaning so that you can rinse the vinegar off before putting it back in the tank.
