Cleaning New Gravel

afternoon all i was just curious how you clean new gravel , or should i say what do you put gravel in to wash it thro ? cheers all

I've put mine into a metal colender and rinsed it well under the tap - if you do it in small amounts it should be washed enough to use.

I've heard the best way to wash sand it through a pillowcase

I put it a bucket & run water through it, swirl it around with my hands, then pour off the dirty water

Colander all the way. You'll sift out anything that isn't gravel pending colander hole size

So, you mean BRAND NEW gravel? I soak mine in a bucket for a while. Otherwise, it'll just dye the color of my water to blue. (<---Gravel color.)
