I have a breeding net which I use often and after a while it obviously beomes dirty and a little stained.

Just wondered if it is safe to clean the net with sterilising fluid as this would clean the stains and give it a new look. I usually just clean out in tank water or tap water and although cleaner than before the stains remain.

Many thanks.

A cheap bleach solution will work.

I dont know if you are in the UK or US, but in the UK, the Asda Smart Price make is perfect. Dilute it in loads of water and its safe to use. When rinsing, rinse it, then rinse it again, and let it air dry.

I had to do this recently due to a Columnaris outbreak in my betta tank. The dividers had a green stain on them due to algea, it was soaked on the bleach solution for a day, and is as good as new now! :)

Almost any tools or equipment can be properly cleaned and disinfected if you are careful about not using something that will directly harm the fish or the tool. Permanganate dips work very well to disinfect but are not your best way to avoid stains on fabric like a net breeder. Then, as Betta_246 said, an air dry will remove any of the chemicals that are volatile and will make the tool safe to use again.
