how much is a pound and a half anyways?

in my area they use to be about 5 dollars each and are now goinh towards 6-8!!!! thats the only reason i dont buy these suckers.

ghost shrimp are by far the cheapest...3 for a dollar is fair. i heard they eat hair algae like mad but not the stuff off your glass and rocks.

amano shrimps are about 4 dollars each where i live and idk about the UK...they love algae though.

cherrys dont eat algae as much IMO...i have had a few in a 3 gallon but they didnt breed. it would be neat to see them double the population though if your tank is set up to their needs.

edit: i would like to add the flower or bamboo shrimp as well. they can be seen in all sizes in the petstore and mine has reached maturity at about 3 inches. theyre completly harmless to community tanks and are actualy a "living filter". watching them feed is very cool...hey add a couple and youll get a bonus in mechanical filtration!

amanos over here are about £3 each where i am, same with ghosts, and in experience ive found ghosts to be better. somebody posted a vid a few weeks back
