Hey all

I'm taking the plunge tomorrow and purchasing my first Cichlid collection.

I'd like to know what people think of my selection and if anyone can see any compatibility issues.

List as follows taken from stock list at Frisby Aquatics (Hull) :

* Pseudotropheus zebra

* Protomelas Sp.Taiwan Reef

* Sciaenochromis Ahli (Fryeri)

* Possibly a Nimbochromis Venustus although I'm not sold on that just yet.

* Cyrtocara Moorii

* alunocara baenschi or alunocara rubin red

* thick bar chitimba

* Possibly a nyassachromis microcephalus

Can someone please advise on compatibility with the above and some variants?

I've got a 180 Juwel Rio / small gravel substrate and plenty of hiding spaces / caves.

Pretty much none of them in a Juwel 180. Too small and the species you list tend to get on the larger size. You have a mix of Mbuna, Haps and Peacocks in there and different diets...

I'd look a little more into it before just going to an LFS with a list like that. Size wise, you want to stick to the smaller ones if you can't upgrade your tank.. such as Saulosi, Perlmutts, Kingsizi, some Afra etc etc. You could even go for the Demasoni route with some yellow labs, but if they're your first, I'd avoid them.

Sorry, I diddnt work my first post correctly.

I wasnt planning on getting all of these, just need to know which ones are compatible with others before I get them!
