Cichlid Species ?

It sounds like the Lab mbamba's might be worth trying out - they suit your needs and since raising fry doesn't concern you may work out ok. If you like lighter blue you can also consider Pseudo Socolofi or Metriaclima callainos.

Johanni males are blue, but the females are yellow, so you aren't any further ahead unfortunately

Not as boldly colored, but essentially the females are the same.

im going back to my neon tetras ! haha
cynotilapia jalo reef females look bold blue ?
or what about :
1male demonsoni, 7 females, 4 yellow labs ?

 We did a full circle and we're back to the Afra's - which I actually thought was a good idea from the start. Yes, you'll find them both quite colorful - again the dominent male tends to be bolder, but not much. I think it's your best bet if you can get your hands on them.

yeah demasoni are sweet, but the lower the numbers with them, the riskier it gets - they really are quite brutal

are the afras able to be mixed, like a pair of cobue, yellow top, red top or others, and if i do, can i have 1:2 or 1:3 in each type, ?

hmm.. good question. Might be worth a shot. Maybe you should make a new thread to see if anyones tried that.

:hyper: Pseudotropheus saulosi :hyper:
or
:hyper: Johannii :hyper:

- can i make a species tank of one of these two and have the males bold blue and the females bold yellow ?
