Cichlid Is This?

Hi All,

Just joind the side, had a tropical tank for about 5 years now. I have alway gone for basic mollys guppys and so on. I have picked up a coule of different Cichlids but i was given two by a friend who said they would not leave his other fish alond however i have not had a problem with them. but the Q is what are they.
i have attached a pic, if anyone could help I woul be most greatful as I have south American cichlids and if they are not i will need to move them on.

Can you post another photo. It looks like a Jack Dempsey or a texas can't tell for sure. But I would say jd

Do you mean the picture on your profile? I would have said it was a Jack Dempsey but I can see what snowflake means about a texas bigger pictures would help

Agreed, you may have to monitor this one closely if it is still in the same tank as the rest of the fish listed in your profile,

which tbh make the 4foot tank you have listed very overstocked, (mainly due to the two oscars)

Thanks to all who have responded, have did put a pic up but for some reason it have not been posted i will try again. having been given some ideas it is hard to tell what one it is JD or Texas.

As for the oscars they are small at the moment but will be looking to rehome the gouramis soon.

i will get that pic up as soon as i work out how, sorry new to this forum and pic might be to big.
