Christmas Has Come Early

getting my new tank tomorrow
its a aqua style 850
84x58x44cms
165 lts
filter in hood 1000lts per hour
lights are 2x30ins 25 watt +1x23ins 20 watts t5s
doing a fishless cycle(second one this year lol)
putting real plants in this one
will be useing co2
will my lights be strong enough ?
will be useing sand/what will i need to put under it for the plants ?
what ferts will i need ?
will be useing a piece of bog wood as center piece.any advice?
list of plants would be nice
also could i use my white filter wool out of my other tank to kick start my new tank ?
fish
6x corys
1x bn catfish
the rest will be live beares,any ideas would be nice

I have the AquaOne 850 (see signiture).
Been running it for a couple of years. I would suggest not using the supplied carbon trays but keep them for later. Yes, put any media you can from an old filter providing it has been used right up to the time of changing.
I have sand in mine with real plants. My prefered choice of fertilizers is Seachem Flourish Fertilizer and Flourish Excel biological carbon.
If you are using real bogwood then you will need to boil it (or pour boiling water over it) after soaking it for a few weeks to leech out the tannins as it will stain your water like tea. (some set-up look quite good with the tannins)
I use look-a-like wood made from resin. If you do end up with staining then you can use the carbon trays to help filter it out although if the wood has not been soaked first then it will continue to leech colour long after the carbon becomes useless.
My wife got me my 850 for my 50th.........we have lovely wives...eh

i have real plants in my tank but i don't know the name of any of them just do a pick and mix ^^ but if you get platies they eat fine leaved plants

Im going to be boring and say guppy's endlers, platties lol sorry just thats what ive got in mine with my corys and ancistrus. In my tank Ive some gorgeous coloured fish and theyre always entertaining lol keep us updated as to what you decide

hi all back again with pic +q
if i take the white floss from this tank to start my cycling will ihave to do a fishless cycle like i did on this 1

heres my new tank ,just finished putting the water in just got to wait till the real plants and the co2 arrive

not leaveing the internal filter/its just there to clear the tank,before i start the built in filter.
any comments welcome
