basic back ground

i have two 4 foot x 18 inches x 18 inches tropical fish tank. there are connected by a water bridge measuring 3 foot x 12 inches x 12 inches. so nearly 600 liters of water.

me and my partner keep arguing over stocking and i want this sorted before my fuval fx5 is order (currently saving). there two internal filter in the tanks at the moment. can't wait to get external can then really start adding fish.

current stocking is

1 x para pleco
1 x angelfish (want to keep him by himself)
2 x keyhole cichlids (would love another 2)
2 x festivums (would love another 2)
2 x gold gourami
2 x Siamese algae eater(would love another 2)
4 x rosy barb (need more of these)

fish we would like

tiger barb (green and albino)
black widow tetra
bleeding heart tetra
clown loach
kribensis
rams
boesemans rainbow fish
zebra loach
glass catfish
and cories

would love to be able to have all of these fish, but unsure on numbers

For starters you can't feasably keep angels with tiger barb. The barbs are incredibly nippy and will shred the angels long fins.
Id also be ware of keeping smaller cichlids like the rams and kribensis with larger cichlids.

sa it isnt one big 600L tank, id say clown loaches will get too big. black widow tetra are pretty much the nippiest tetras you can get, and im not sure but it hink the rainbows get quite big, and 4ft might not be enough for them to dart about in.

can we get a good picture of the tank ? this 'water bridge', is it actually a place where fish can go, or is it just a pathway for water ? i assume it has no floorspace for bottom dwellers ? can fish mix between all the tanks ? or are they confined to where they are ? to be honest its hard to give advice without knowing exactly what the is built like. you certainly cant assume that because its 600L it means you can have fish that are suggested for 600L tanks.

Rosy Barbs are temperate fish that need cooler water than the rest of your stocking from I can see. Yes, that whole decreased lifespan; hyperactivity; increased food requirements; increased ammonia waste tec. has risen its ugly head again!

clown loaches will get too big to use the water tunnel eventually, big single tanks only imo.

cories will more than likely onyl stay in whichever tank you put them in, i dont think ive ever seen any cories swim more than 6 inches from the bottom.

No, the Rosy Barbs are not tropical fish, they will suffer at permanent tropical temperatures. As might the Danios, if you're planning Leopards or Zebras.

Glass Catfish need calm tankmates, they will get panicked by boisterous fish like Rainbowfish.
