keep them with fish of a similar temprement, 60 litres minimum, dont keep with livebearers, or long finned fish

as long as the tank is cycled and the stats are fine try and post the water stats if you can also the tank size if that is all okay then you will want between 4-6 of them and they are not known fin nippers i dnt think for 6 cherry barbs i would say a tank at least 15 gallons would be fine

cherry barbs are VERY bad for fin nipping...
They don't have bad habits and are ok with other fish....not trully schooling as in other barbs, but enjoys company of a few mates... keep 4 or 5.
I've seen that trait in Tiger barbs and sometimes Golden barbs Trucks.... Havent really experienced with any of my Cherry barbs....

when i kept them in a 60 litre it was terrible, i think in a bigger tank you would be ok
But as in all fish,... you probably do get the odd individuals that do not play by the prescribed norms....

when i had golden barbs they were never nippers i had 6 of them and they never nipped anything
Exactly why I said "and sometimes Golden barbs" It is not in their nature, but I've seen it.

its all down to individual fish you cant say that such a thing will kill another fish i mean look at my tank on paper should be a bloodbath but its all happy and peaceful
