Excellent pic.
I must admit I've never seen those with my own eyes before, could you give us a little more info on them.
water temps, pH etc.
I like that very much.
Regards
BigC

I like his little fan hands ^_^
He's like a little crusty burlesque dancer.

Stunning gorgeous beautiful picture

I'm not sure that is a Atyopsis moluccensis (common fan shrimp)
I think it is a Atyopsis spinipes (bamboo shrimp)
although the only real difference we need to know is size.
A.moluccensis reach 6cm and A.spinipes reach 8cm

Eitherway great pic thapus
Edit
having taken a second look
I'm going to this...

I keep them at pH about 7, quite soft water, temp about 26C/79F, NO3 near 0.
Here's some links about them.

Not very coherent information. I would appreciate more links about them. ;)

Atyopisis spinipes, Atyopsis moluccensis, I don't know, but look those sizes in other links. Mine are how ever small, I'd say 5cm long. But they are all females I think.

A POTM nomination? How? Well, thanks. :D

A POTM nomination? How? Well, thanks.

well it is not a fish and you keep it as a pet so, pet of the month.
good luck getting a second nom though
(I doubt anyone else uses my logic

lol, well why the heck not ? I'll give it a second nomination - if "powers that be" decide it's ok to include in the comp ! (over in the pet section)

What a cool little critter! Love his pattern and his fans. Neat little guy. One of these days I really need to set up a shrimp species tank. They're just such fascinating little things.

Beautiful example of a bamboo shrimp! We sell them at the shop I work at and they are always popular. They eat a small ammount of algae but are more efficient filter feeders and will often sit as close to the filter-outlet as they can and sit there "fanning" all day.

Great addition to any community and only grow 2-3".
