Cheap Option For Co2?

Here is what you need along with some links to ebay items.

A co2 gas regulator http
Some co2 proof tubing. http
A non return valve. http
A drop checker & reagent to go in it. http
A bubble counter (I dont use one but a lot of people do) http
A co2 diffuser http
That is for the basic set up, but it will mean that you will have to turn it on & off by hand every day.
If you want that bit automated you will need a solanoid valve. http
Ther you have it, add up the costs to give you an idea of inital outlay, but once purchased all you will need to do is replace your co2 supply when it runs out.
A lot of those listings are from abroad, but I did a very basic search. Take your time there are bargains to be had.

pain in the #14### the fact all the ones that are suitable for aquariums are from hong kong! gonna take weeks to arrive

The Green Machine, Aqua Essentials or one of those companies were selling a reg and solenoid combined for a little under £100 a while ago.
EDIT. Just looked on AE and TGM and they don't have any suitable for a FE. Will try and look for you. Ebay is OK but when dealing with companies that are far away its a long process I've found.

no problem, only reason I suggested it, it was in the UK, mine is from HK.
The one you have just bought, are you getting a solenoid for it? or you going to manually turn the co2 off and on?
let us know how that one works when it arrives.

Not fussed about the solenoid at the mo. Jus gonna turn it on when I gt up, an off when I go to bed

It's really easy to do. Just unscrew the horn on the fire extinguisher and screw on the regulator. Then tighten it up using a wrench. The fire extinguisher will last you about a year before it runs out, so it is well worth doing. I use this method in my tank. Check out my youtube channel and you can see it working http

Well iv got a delivery this morning
Took a bit of figuring out and still avnt got it right
Managed to sort the leak of co2 between the FE and the regulator by using plumbers tape
Got it all in the tank, went to secure the cable tie and pop the plastic bubble counter blew up into about 80 pieces lol
Touch of an elephant me, think I'm going to have to use heavy duty tape or something
