I have small particles in my water that aren't being extracted by the filter...

I've read about filter floss to polish the water... But as I'm quite skint at the moment, is there anything that can be found around the house that will work just as well?

My mum does a lot of craft work... Know of anything that would be suitable? I get paid next week. Im always skint this close to payday...

Just make sure pillow stuffing, teddy bear stuffing :)( ) is not fire retardent before using it.

I see. I think ill go with cotton wool. Wheres the best place to put it, if anyone knows the inside of a stingray 15

Cant see cotton wool being any use, it will go soggy very quickly.

Hmm...

How about some fairly dense foam?

Edit: Okay, maybe i should just borrow some money and buy filter floss

A good LFS will sell large bags of foam squares and filter floss, often aimed at the pond market - my local one sells huge bags of filter floss, about the size of a pillow, for less than a fiver. :)

Agreed - I bought a box of filter floss for 99p from my LFS which has lasted me nearly a year. It's cheaper than cotton wool! and you know it hasn't got anything in it which will harm your fish.
