Iam not sure but people think around an inch by next month, Iam hoping the parents are good parents but we will have to see, This tank is solely for them no other tankmates......Yes theres a risk the parents may eat them, They may die if not then as they mature they will inturn become canabalistic and start to pick off the weaker ones<only the strong survive...

as this is the first recorded breeding.....will you remove them if you notice they are going "missing"? or will you just let this be a very natural breeding?

any ideas if they will breed again? if so how quickly?

do you have space for the fry?

who would think a few days ago i wasnt interested in snakeheads now im reading up on them!

HEHE Was not even trying, never in a million exspected this, No i will leave it to be as natural as possible, I think this is the only true way we will get to know how they deal with things, wether or not they make good parents or next time they need to be seperated, Up until a couple of days ago everyone was shocked i have two in a tank together as most people that are trying hard to breed them have them all in seperate tanks, Then were going to bring them together once they matured......Also it was thought that they were mouthbrooders but at present there not, maybe when they are free swimming<who knows>no one thats who......There is a cichlid that doesnt start mouthbrooding until eggs have hatched so maybe maybe not these guys will do something similar,,,,,,,So i feel as it is there first batch anyhow i will just record every detail, however trivrial it sounds or seems, so we have a fighting chance next time :good:
No i dont have any idea about if they will breed again<hopefully they will>and when
No i do not have tonnes of space, Iam looking for a nice 5ft/15/15inch tank which should ease the situation abit
