Fish Fanatic
So I had the 90l ready to set up for a lovely Betta and a group of schooling fish, but had a change of plan.
As some of you may know I had a mystery fish in my tiny 7l hospital tank. Well it turns out I have 7. And they are killies. They are now around 2cm and are out growing the little 7l very quickly!
I was just going to take them to my LFS and do a swap for some other fish, but after watching the little guys grow and thrive I've decided to set up the 90l for them.
I'm a little late in starting my journal, as the tank is basically ready for the fish!
I started by adding the gravel substrate from my main tank (after recently changing to sand) I then two thirds filled the tank with water from my main tank during the water change. I then added media to the filter from my main tank too to give the cycle a kick start.
Added a few plants, some from my main, some new and found a beautiful piece of bogwood, not what I'd imagined but looks better than my original idea! Well at least I think so, lol.
So the tanks been going for two weeks now, I was away all last week so didn't check on it, it was basically left to get on with it.
Only thing is when I got back I noticed a bulb had gone so I've ordered a new one, should be here tomorrow or Thursday.
Sooo, all going well my little killies should be in their new home at the weekend!
I would like at add some other fish in with them too at some point but going to have to do a bit of research as to what would be best. As I am fully aware this species of killie do not bode well with fish of the fancy fin varieties, my Betta is well and truly out of the window!
So here is a couple of pics of the tank as it is today. Water is slightly cloudy as I've been having a bit of a shuffle with the plants.
Hope you guys like!
