Chances Of Egg/fry Survival

For the last 4 nights my silvertip tetras have been spawning for a good couple of hours, what are the chances of any of the eggs/fry actually surviving? Bearing in mind they eat most of the eggs as soon as they're released lol I'm thinking little to no chance...

Yeah, probably no chance, but you never know; of you've gravel substrate (so the eggs can fall into the crevices) and it's very heavily planted, you might get one or two!

Got sand. Not sure there's sufficient hiding places in plants either... although there may be later if the hc grows.

You have silvertips don't you fluttermoth?

I do, yes; I've only had mine a couple of months and haven't had any sign of them spawning though!

They're gorgeous little fish though, aren't they? The males are stunning in full colour.

Not got anothet tank you could set up for breeding? I expect the eggs wwill be light senstive (most tetra eggs are), so a thick layer of peat would be probably the best sunstrate.

I've had them about a week! I suspected... I wasn't sure at first cuz I didn't actually see eggs, but last night saw eggs being released. They are gorgeous, really subtle, coloured up lovely within a couple of days

I do have another tank... I guess I could give it a go at some point.

When i kept silvertips,they spawned regularly,but i never seen any fry...eggs probably got eaten straight away with the corys
