can i put a ceremic tile in my tank for my convicts to lay egs on..... can't find a piece of slate anywhere so i came up with this bright idea

I am not too sure about that but if it were complete and had no sharp edges, then I would have thought so. You could try posting this in the D.I.Y section, it might get read more in there.

you might want to be careful, not sure what effect the varnish or other products used in the tiles would have on the water.
