Thinking of making a cave.
Want to use natural stone like slate. Wondering if slate will alter water chemistry.
Cave is 12"x8"x3-4" high with multiple entrances into it.
Also would 100% silicone be ok to bond slate together.
Hoping for my redtail black shark to take territory of it.

Yes, slate is fine in tanks, it won't alter your water at all.

Make sure you get a silicone that specifically says it's ok for aquarium use.

Bought 3 slate tiles 2.47 each
Tube of aquarium sealent 5.99

So about 14 dollars for materials.

Now to break tiles and piece a cave together....
Will post a pic of final product once completed

Hope this turns out

I'm sure it will :)

Looking forward to seeing it!
