Cats Or Dogs?

If I was in a position to keep a dog I would, but with present lifestyle it really wouldn't be fair on anyone, least of all the dog.

I own and like both. They offer different things and one is not better than the other. My dogs are more outspoken with their affection, my cats are more internal but no less feeling. My cats are more peaceful, my dogs more rambunctious. I have a distinct duality to my nature, so I can appreciate both pets pretty equally.

I'm a dog person, but like cats ok... There is a stray that came with my house that come and goes as she see's fit. I figure she was here first.

never used to be a dog person, really didn't like them at all when i was a teenager, then my mum got one and I grew to love him. not in a position where i could have dogs at the moment so I've just got my kitties, I'd love a doggy one day though.

Ian reckon's he's putting his foot down and I can only have 2 non fish pets at any one time, so I'd have to wait for one of the kitties to pass on before I get a dog.

Be a few years before we're in a position to have a dog though so plenty of time to work on him!

Dogs!

Grew up with Siamese Cats, but, its dogs for me now!

I have two Shar Pei called Sasha and Amy and a Pug cross called Frank.

Cats!! I think cats are a great pet, they are independent, which is why you want to cuddle them more, but when they want to they are the best cuddlers- perfect lap size. They are furry, really smart, and cleaner than dogs imo (don't get me wrong I love dogs as well) but cats cleaning themselves is nature, while dogs won't lick themeselves clean by instinct. I really love all animals but it has to be cats for me. If I couldn't have cats or fish I'd choose dogs though. I've lived with dogs all my life, but I still think cats win my vote.

were pretty much in the "both" categories! we had dogs for years & had loads of good times at shows etc.., the hardest part is when they go! we lost 2 bitches in the space of 10 weeks due to old age illnesses, we count ourselves lucky though as anything over 8 is "borrowed time"for a boxer! our girls were 11 & 12, the red one (paris) died 1st , the brindle (harley) died 2 weeks short of her 12th birthday 9 weeks later (she was never without her rubber dummie in her gob!) both the pics of these girls were taken only a couple of weeks before they died, still fit!! when we got the brindle dog (luka) it kinda gave paris a new lease of life she was full of go , they would play for ages & took her back to being a pup, sadly not for long though, as for the cat (shera) hes a propper moggy, comes & goes as he pleases (he was a stray but we took him in) hes no problem at all, dosent even bother the bird or fish

I like dogs but they tend to get on my nerves! I absolutly adore cats, I have had one ever since I was a baby (37 years).

Dogs! As cliche as it is, a dog really is a (wo)man's best friend! I love how they are so goofy and playful and they just want to please you. I love cats too, but I'm not such a fan of the "holier than thou" sassy attitude that some cats have! Dogs are just awesome...plus who could resist those puppy dog faces?!
