About 2 months ago I brought a really fantastic artificial log for my tank which is completely hollow inside and has 3 holes in for fish to swim in and out. I have 3 fish which really love this log which are my Pakistani Loach, Bristle Nose Catfish and a Spotted Raphael Catfish.
Since I have had it in the tank my Spotted Catfish has made this his home and I never see him any more apart from when I lit up the hole with my torch today and I saw him swimming around happily eating any food which floats in. He is roughly about 4" and quite fat.
I was wandering how clever is a Catfish? Do you think when he grows more he will move out of his home as he can grow up to 8" and I don't want him to be stuck in there forever :-(

My Catfish spends all day hidden in a similar log - but if you go back into the living room an hour after the room lights are turned off he is charging all over the place...I really wouldnt worry about this.

My pleco is the same, he has "his" home, but otherwise he explores a lot.

my b/n used to spawn in the
bubble up filters i used to
have in the breeding tanks
they also used to rise the young in there
and when they were ready to come out
you would see little b/n been
blown out of the filter ready
for a life all of there own
