My YT damsel is fast becoming a pain in the backside as as it's getting older it is becoming more and more territorial and attackin/nipping at all the other placid fish in the tank.

I woke up the other day to see it going at my banghai cardinal and later found the cardinal to have a big tear in it's fin.

Ive made up my mind and I wish to return the damsel back to the LFS but I have having some right problems trying to catch it... As soon as the net goes into the water the YT immediately dashes into the large amount of rockwork I have in my tak and does not come back out til several minutes after the net has been pulled out of the water.

I have tried to feed as I put the net into the tank but it has still had the same results.

Does anybody know of any simple yet effective techniques to help me capture the lil sh*t????

Can anybody help...

Thank you in advance.

you can try using a plastic container and putting some food in it. Let the fish swim into it and eat the food. Do this each day for a few days and then one day when the damsel is in the container, lift it out. You can try the same thing with a net but often a container works better.
Besides that the only other way is to pull the tank apart.

Noooooo dont say that guys I really cant be tearing my tank apart to get the damsel as its got over 30kgs of LR and have matured with loverly corals etc and I dont want to be disrupting anything.

One of my friends claims he caught his damsels using a BIG net so Im going to see if i can get one and see if i can catch it using that.

Also might try the container method...

Will let you know how i get on.

smallest barbless fish hook with some fishing line attached to it. When he goes to eat the food, "hook him up"

works great with larger fish... just not sure about a small damsel if you can find a barbless fish hook small enough
