hmmmm OP hope you dont get bad algae due to the window, beautiful tank set up and lovely fish, i like derek :good:

Thanks all.

I have got a bit of algae growing on the internal filter, leaving it until tomorrow for Derek to clean off, if he hasn't then I will scrub it when I do the water change.

All the plants are aquatics, from a reputable seller, and all seem to be doing well so far.

Bit of bad news though.

Grumpy finally killed Gordon last night :-( He had been chasing him relentlessly for weeks so I posted on here asking for help. Seemed I had two males in too small a tank, so got my bigger tank. Chasing continued, if anything it was worse. Poor little Gordon was sitting on top of the internal filter all day yesterday, looking like he'd given up. I was at my wits end as hated to see him like this, so even though I wanted to wait two weeks before adding more fish, I thought as long as I do a few water changes this week things should be OK with the two filters running. I got two females and the tank was quite mad last night. Gordon was just on his filter, not bothered, bless him. Grumpy chased the females a bit. We went out for a few hours and came back to all 3 very jumpy, but one of the females 'sitting' side by side with Grumpy under the filter inlet pipe. Seems like Grumpy has got a mate.

Though now I have 3 Gouramis I don't really want :( I might keep the females as they are very pretty but will definitely have to rehome Grumpy at the LFS or something. Gone off Gouramis a bit due to this episode.

Thought I'd update this with some new pics :)

I've been suffering fom some green water for the past couple of weeks but have drastically reduced the amount of time my lights are on and it seems to be getting better.

Little update on my stock. The Gouramis were returned to the LFS and used as a p/x for my Bolivian Rams. I recently bought 4 reduced to clear Keyholes from PAH, but have only got one left now :( Not sure what happened. One looked quite poor when I put him in but the other were fine. I guess they were just too traumatised from being in such a small crowded tank at PAH, but at least they had a happy last few days in my tank. Poor little things. I don't know if I will get anymore (never again from PAH though!), will see how the lone one fairs. Other fish are in my signature. I'm going to get some Cories a little later on in the month, probs start with 3 then get another 3 a couple of weeks later. I know they are sensitive so will try and introduce them gradually. Not sure what to ge after, maybe a single Anglelfish but will be keeping an eye on it with the tetras. Was also thinking about an Elloti or something. I love cichlids :)

So, onto photos. Did weekly water change today and some maintenance of my plants. If anyone has any ideas on how to treat the brown on my plant in the photo I'd be grateful. They aren't getting a lot of light now but I still feed Flourish Excel.
