Cant Get My Water To Normal Levels!

The filters are to small there haven't been coping with all the fish in there.
Would help alot if you gave the size of the tank.

2 clown loaches(small),2 kissing grammies(very small),1 large pleco,4 discus,5 angels,2 small mollies, stingray(still small for stingray), bala shark, red tail shark and a wee baby pleco.mostly really small fish though m8.souns a lot now i write it down lol

Overstocked for that filter seen as you won't answer the tank size.
For now I would invest in a bigger and better filter for the stock.
It still overstocked.

added another smaller fluval filter earlier to help cope with the problem.its a fluval in the tank job that was running the tank for two years before i bought the lot off a m8.i upgraded to the 205 external around 6-8 months ago to cope with more fish.thought the stingray was maybe causing a bit of the problem cause he's never bloody done digging the gravel up and kicking up a bit of a stir in the water

will running this smaller filter help the problem or am i waisting time here with it just.water is ctystal clear now.just not reading the best.should i change more water tonight or have another go in morning just?

thanks

I would of bought another 205 to cope with all the fish.
You are going to have to get about 200 gal for all them fish, that if they survive in the bad waer quality at the moment.

am intending to upgrade tank early next year for a bigger one.will need it for when stingray grows i'm told anyway.just tring to keep them alive for now with what i have here.money is low being xmas and all or i would have went out 2moro and bought bigger filter system.
should i change more water and see if it helps or will this be too stressful for now?try in morning?

thanks for your advice wilder.appreciated m8

Don't think that smaller filter going to do much to be honest, only thing I can think of is rehoming some of the larger fish.
Which will take the pressure off.

i'll have to see my m8 2moro,see if he fancies doing a bit of fish minding for a while.if not i'll just have to keep changing water and testing very regularly and hope i dont harm any more.thanks again for the help m8.

Got to do something fast as they just going to die of ammonia poisoning.
Good luck.

API Stresscoat & water conditioner does nothing to neuteralize ammonia and will actually raise the ammo level if you have chloramines in the water. Check out http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/rev-cond.htm to find a water conditioner that will help with ammonia. Some tests will still test positive for ammonia as they detect ammonium the same as ammonia. Ammo-Lock and other products work by converting ammonia to ammonium, which is harmless to fish but still used the same as ammonia by your bio filtration. A two reagent test will not give a false reading with ammonium.

Rehoming some of the fish would be best, as has already been stated. You should be changing water a lot more often than once monthly with that stocking, 50% 2 or 3 times weekly is needed.
