For a few weeks as I've dislocated my elbow and just can't do them with one arm. My injured arm has to be rested across my stomach for at least a month. I feel terrible and hope the lack of water changes won't harm my fish as I usually do it every fortnight. Had just done all my three tanks before I injured my arm 12 days ago. My wife and daughter won't do it and are busy themselves. Should I maybe feed less at present, say every other day or even every third day? The filter flow is still strong and they usually go 5-6 weeks before needing the sponge rinsing in tank water when it slows down a lot.

i think you will find that as time progresses your arm will become less and less painful and your fredom of movement will improve. and i hope you get well soon dislocations hurt

feeding less will help, but even if you can just change the water without cleaning the the substrate will be a big help.

Thanks. The worst pain is when the Dr.in A&E puts it back in to place. Yes I'm thinking maybe I can bribe my 14 year-old daughter to just help me with a water change next week and leave the substrate for now.

Every time i`ve been to hospital with an injury its been fine and not hurt untill the doctor/nurse get hold of it then its agony for a week.

get well soon.

I feel for you, I ripped the muscle in my shoulder a couple of weeks ago, still hurts from time to time now, I watched my Hubby do 2 water changes for me  Ended up taking loads of painkillers and doing it myself

How about just using a measuring jug to scoop out water into a bucket? You only need 1 arm. It will obviosly take a while and mean your not cleaning the gravel but hey it's better than nothing.
