Canister Filter

I have been having problems with slightly cloudy water for a few weeks now, yesterday I added an Eheim canister filter and I just turned the tank lights on. Well guess what? Filter has been going for about 20hrs and the water is pretty much crystal clear now... YAY Love this filter!!

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but does the canister filter move a lot more water than the previous filter? If so, that could explain the overnight clearing. I'm not dissing canister filters, which are excellent. Simply thinking out loud about filtration rates.

Canister filters provide the chance to choose what you need in your tank. If you need a fine particle filter, just put some into your canister and it will polish your water. If you need carbon for odors, add some into a basket. A decent canister is flexible, that is its real beauty to me.
