yes you can as long as they are male and female, however you haven't got your copepod culture going yet have you?

Why do u need 1 of those can't u just buy copedepods from your lfs

well, some lfs sell them, but not many - you can also buy them online, but it will turn out mighty expensive compared to setting up a small container with a copepod culture, an airstone, a window sill and feeding phyto every couple of days and then bingo in three weeks you have a thriving pod colony to harvest every few days :good:

Expect you already have a small pump with an airstone, grab a plastic container from the cupboard, order a culture off one of the many sites along with some phyto and you are away, cheap as chips :hyper:

Oh you can have a small container and it doesn't matter what size or does it

Not really, but to make it worth while go for something about ten inches by five or larger - bet there is a container in the back of the cupboard somewhere or even an old goldfish bowl (that's what Trod uses). Some people use old drinks bottles (2 lt) or the like

emmmm, well dusk is the time mandys often display looking for a mate :good:

Here's a lovely image of a male mandarin, the female doesn't have the long spike dorsal fin

I for some reason think it's a male because it has a sort of long top fin but I don't know at all what the other thing is next to maybe it fell off and went on the mucus

Sorry no because it never shows it but you know that top fin well the rectangly part has something stuck on the side but I do no for a fact that when it lifts it up it looks about 3 cm tall so I think it's a male but in the future if I want to add another I will just add a female and see what happens
