Can You Help Me With The Wpg Rule?

I have 2 x 24w HO T5 hagen power glo tubes on a 180l tank/ 40g, this only works out at 0.42WPG which is barely nothing, but wouldn't it make a difference because i have T5's ? the power glo tubes are in the blue spectrum range. i have reflectors.

1 - 2x24=48W / 40 = 1.2WPG

2 - Do they have reflectors?

3 - If so then judge as approx double the WPG ratio (T12 v T5HO) due to their output and slimness. (Not an official line but from experience I am guessing this)

4 - Replace them with 1 daylight and 1 pink for best results.

In summary if you haven't got reflectors then get some. Arcadia make T5 reflectors as well as T8 and are easily found on the net. Judge your output at equivalent to 2.4WPG (this is plenty for virtually any plant). Change the bulbs to ones that are better for plants.
