Can You Help Me Remember The Name Of My Fish?

okay well my 52 gall is cycled so i got some barbs, there name sounded like "obsidian" bard and it definetly started with a "O".
then are about 2" long and the males are a orange/red colour and the females a gray sliver with black spots.
they have long fins.
when i can get a picture ill post it, just i cant remember there names

i just looked in the new practical fishkeeping and i wasn't sure about it, but as you said it ill go with it.

there amazing i got 3 males and 3 females and there wizzing around the tank like crazy , there less likly to nip fins and all te ones in the store were healthy. they went all wizzy when i scoped them out there bag after letting it sit for 20 mins then adding some tankwater to the bag every 5 mins.
but i now know i need to do a 40liter water change as some more tannins have leached out to fast for the avctive carbon to do anything. but ohwell there having fin and the PH is good at 8.

I don't know why you got these, they weren't on your stocking list. Oh well they're quite nice, be careful with long fins the only barbs I know of that doesn't like eating long fins are cherry barbs, and I've proven that now because I have an angelfish with them, and they take no notice.

nah the man in the shop said they are good for my tank atm. he said my water is in perfect condition and that they will be good a relitivly hardy for me. then are one of my shooling fish as i have 6 now and i might get some Endlers and the other.

they are my little gardiners, in 10 mins they have all been "attacking" the dead leaves in my tank that i cant get and bringing them to the top for me to take out, is this even normal? they have doen like 4 leafs now all of which were dead, and they are leaving the good leafs.
now there playing tag, its like "manhunt" 2 of them are on ine team and rhe other 4 on the other team, the 2 are chasing the 4 and when one gets caught they swap sides.

great additions to any tank i say, instantly active and colourfull and will swim in all areas of your tank, there superfish!

Ye when I added my cherry barbs the whole tank went mad.

They calm down after a day or so.
