for my new planted tank i was wondering can you tie some moss to a side of your filter
obviously not on the outlet but on the other side???
thanks

it wont attach as the filter casing is smooth. You could put some scratches in it if you wish but not the best idea if you ever sell it. Otherwise buy some mesh to hold it in place.

yes also just had a thought when you clean the filter sponges how would you take it apart if it has moss all over it...

I would think as it grows it will get sucked into the filter inlet & clog it

I make really cheap sponge filters, which consist on a UGF powerhead a pipe and filter floss. The floss is all exposed, and java moss grows on it. The moss basically grows on the media. Hids the filter floss and doesn't harm the filter, however when ever I separate the two I'm left with a filter with lots of bits of moss, and moss with lots of bits of filter floss.

I like this idea.

It is good if someone wanted to hide their filter piping for a very "clean" look to their tank.
