Can Someone Tell Me My Fish.....

Okay well I literally got these fish like 2 hours ago. Anyways, I had gotten these from my LFS and I only know that they are rainbowfish. The employee who was helping me only told me that they were rainbowfish, so I asked, "Okay,.... well do you know what species of rainbowfish? and he told me he didn't know" (I seriously don't think this person knew a marine fish from a freshwater fish and one time he gave me Common Pleco, when I asked for a Bristlenose, in other words he is stupid), so I did what any other person would do and asked another employee and he told me to go ask the employee who just gave me the stupid answer, so I just bought the fish and decided to ask the real experts. Also, sorry for the bad pictures, I don't have a camera right now, so I have been using my phone. Thanks in Advance!
 
Also, if you could,.... What size aquarium should they be in? How to identify sex? and breeding? I assumed the more colorful was the male and the duller were female.

Thanks, being an Aussie who has kept rainbow fish before I can narrow that down to 2 species: Dawson river rainbow or Murray river rainbow.
Thankfully, the care of these 2 fish is more or less the same.

Size: 4-5 inches.
Temperament: schooling mostly peaceful. Keep in schools of 6+
Tank size: at least 4 foot ( 55 gallons )
Feeding: anything. Flake, pellets, wafers, dead fish, shrimp.
Tank mates: things that can be swallowed whole by rainbow fish like baby shrimp or guppies should be avoided. Large aggressive fish are a no no.

Awesome, well I have 3 of them right now, so I will look into more. So are the breeding habits of the 2 you described fairly similar? and how many female to male?
