can some one help me Id my new pleco please was told he is a bns but im not shore xxx thanks Photo0490.jpg

Looks like either a BN or a Longfin BN to me.

Picture is al ittle blurry, could you give us an idea of size and colouring and maybe a shot from above?

i keep trying but only had him just over 24 hr's so he's still not use to me going close to then tank bless unlike my other pleco who sits on my hand but will try to get a better pic when he come off the filter again. my other is a bns but this one is not like it at all but that could be cod my little one is female.

Aye, I added a female and I'm impressed at how distinct they can look. Also bear in mind that the colouring can vary quite a lot in the green/brown/black/grey spectrum.

thank you he come from a rescue we did. We got over 50 fish but he was the only one who was scared bless just hope in time i can get him to be like my female one is mind iv had her from a baby bless.

this is my female pleco :D

how big will he get so that if i need to upgrade my tank i can do at the min he is only about 4 inch big and in a 3 foot tank

They can get as big as 6 inches, but thats rare, 4-5 inches is the normal size for a BNP :) So, saying he's about four inches means he's probably about fully grown.... and as there are no bristles yet I'd say you have a second female on your hands :good:

its a lot bigger then what it is in the pic this pic is one the lady I got it from I still having problems getting it to come out in the day time but in time she will come out of her shell :D

Which are exactly the same fish.
Umm, not as far as I'm aware. Longfins are a breed/subsp which have slightly different feeding habits, breeding habits and vitality.

OP, it is a common BN
Agree, from the second pick, common BN

OP
They get to 5" easy, but a 3foot is fine for her.
Some of them never come out much, it's a personality thing.

Thank you SandraNewbie :D just hope she comes out of her shell like my other one has cos it would be good to see her out more. i dont no what kind of a life she had befor we got her just that she hid all the time. :( but now she is in a bigger tank with more room to move and play in :D iv even gone out and got some veg for her and my other pleco :D
