It is more common in fish that search for food along the bottom. Livebearing fish often scavenge in the gravel. I had camalanus worms about 6 months ago and I have neon tetras that were not infected. Take out the sick fish as soon as possible and clean the gravel and scrub decorations.
No the neon tetras that I think aren't infected are in the main tank but put in a breeding trap so they can't reach the bottom of the tank and get infected
Ok, there is still a possibility of them getting sick, but it is much lower if they aren't eating off the bottom. What are you doing for treatment in the tank?
I'm using prazipro. Will cherry shrimp be infected? There is nothing in the main tank other than than the tetras in the breeding trap. I was hoping I could starve the cammalanus worms for a week or two but I have some algae that I wanted the shrimps to clean up. Will the worms be gone in 1 and a half weeks? I can't really afford to buy any more medicine.
