Silly question but...... Can i feed tuna to my fish?
It's dolphin safe tuna if that helps?

I've heard people saying it's good for them and it boosts their immune system. I know garlic juice does this but i don't have any garlic juice so i was wondering if what people have said is true?
I think they said only tuna that's in brine though and that's what i've got so i was asking before i did anything.

u want the ones in spring water not brine. but i wouldnt do it anyway unless u had a big fish like an oscar or similar. i tried it once, i only put in a small amount but they hardly ate it. it made a horrible mess

put it on toast or something and eat it urself. less hassle

brine is water saturated with salt (NaCl). salt is bad for tropical fish. i wouldnt give tuna in brine to a cat or dog either.

if u dont like toast then put it on bread with a garden salad and make a sandwich (an idea for next time, or the remaining tin/s, as it sounds like uve already used some of it)

if sox and bugsy are a cat or a dog, a once off shouldnt leave any lasting detriment to their health, but i would refrain from feeding them any more tuna in brine (tuna in spring water should be fine though)

Salt isn't that bad for a tropical fish, it just is if they live in it constantly. Also if tropical fish shouldn't have brine, why do we feed them brine shrimp.

Make it simple, buy brine shrimp in garlic, that is good for their immune system

fish such as cichlids and mollies are rather tolerant of salt, but fish such as loaches and loricariids are much less so. i would prefer to advise someone to avoid salt in a freshwater setup then simply assume they have a tank full of cichlids or silver monos, archer fish, gobies etc.

I'm not saying throw loads of salt in there, I'm just saying that a little bit of salt in a lot of FW is not going to do anything. I'm not suggesting (s)he goes and raises the salt level to like 1.005.
