Can I Use This Filter, Or Will It Like Blow Up My Tank? :p

I have a 100 litre tank, but my filter has always been a bit crappy, its one of those fluval U ones and isnt very reliable. So then i found in my cupboard an unused aqua flow 400, still all boxed and everything, but its for a 200 - 400L tank ....
to use or not to use? i know its best to use more filtration rather than less but i want some advice before trying this

Yeah, give it a try, flow is rarely as strong as the box says. Shove all your old cycled media in it and give it a try. If its too strong for your tank you'll soon realise when the fish are being buffeted against the sides

go 4 it, the more filtration the better. can't hurt.

flow will be no problem. with 800 lph (lol???) after you add media and it gets bedded in. it'll flow more like 400lph. 4x turnover is not that high. and its a lot less flow than most fish would find in the natural river homes.

yeaaah, i turned it on and they literally couldnt swim, at all and it was like uprooting my plants the current was so strong! So put a piece of filter media over the output nozzle and now its great

so its water speed, not the turnover, that's causing the problem.

Has it got a flow control on it that you can adjust down like the fluval ones?

irritatingly not! so had to make my own flow control with some filter media, the current is pretty weak now
