Can I Use Sandstone Rocks

We got some rocks from a garden center for the garden but they are really interesting shapes and sizes and wondered if I could use them in an aquarium Im setting up.

Im pretty sure they are sandstone (yellow in coulour and quite chalky dusty) I know Id need to seep them and stuff firast but wasnt sure if they would affect the pH or anything.

I heard there was a way of testing rocks with vinegar, is it that if you drop vinegar on the rock and if it fizzes you cant use it?

I think sandstone would dissolve in the tank and affect the ph. It should fizz in the vinegar test. There is a pinned topic on rocks that the wolf wrote i think which says whats suitable to use.

thats magic cheers, I doubt I'll be able to use them but they had other types of rock so I'll see what they are like when I go back.
