Can I Use Any Power Strip / Timer?

I was wondering if I could use any power strip that has a timer on it? They sell them at target and I can just plug my air pump/hood light into it so it goes on/off everyday ya?

yep, though ideally any fish tank should be on a GFCI protected outlet.

because you have electricity near water..... By code GFCI outlets are in all up to date bathrooms and kitchens these days because you have electricity near water. Fish tanks are no different, theres just no codes when it comes to them. GFCI cost $10-12 and its your own safety not mine so its up to you.

I have everything on my tank plugged into a 12 way surge protector in a sealed cupboard under the tank, just incase

I dont actually need 12 sockets, but the timers attached to two of the plug take up quite a bit of room! Works well for me.
