I have a fish that I have bought but not sure what type it is can I upload a pic to show

I believe you need to validate your account first,

you should have been sent an email, click the link in that and you should be good to go.

or ou can use something like photobucket to host the pics and embed them here.

Welcome to the forum David.
Pictures are not something that we are set up to keep locally on this forum. Because pictures take up so much space on the server, the forum is designed to show pictures that are located somewhere else. If you sign up with a storage service like photobucket, they do not charge for it, you can load your digital pictures there. Once you have the picture on that web storage location, you can just link to it using the IMG code line. You just copy the link with a CTRL C keystroke and paste into a text message here with a CTRL V keystroke. In my case, I store lots of pictures there like this harbor seal that I stumbled across on the beach in Oregon / USA.

or even this picture that I use as my avatar in a much reduced form

If you right click on a picture, you can see where it is stored and even go to the original of the picture by pasting that location into your internet explorer, Mozilla or other browser navigation line.
