hi, having finally (!) completed my fishless cycle with pure ammonia (well, household ammonia) i have my tank with 6 tiger barbs, 4 peppered corys and 6 white cloud minnows. my tank is 110 litres (30" x 18" x 12") its also been running for 2 weeks now and everything is fine, all fish happy and healthy! :good:

i have seen kribs in the lfs and think they are great! i was just wondering if they would be too aggressive? and would they be compatible with the fish currently in the tank?? hopefully i wont be overstocked with 2 kribs either??

a few questions i know but any help would be appreciated since i will probably get them tomorrow or tuesday if they are suitable!

thanks

charlie

Personally Id wait a while longer until you get the Kribs. Your fish would be fine with the Kribs so long as the Kribs didnt spawn in which case maybe 2 females is the answer. I introduced a Krib (male) to my 125 litre and at first it looked as though he was constantly bullying the Corydoras but it stopped after a few days, so Im thinking it was just his curiosity.

thanks for the advice radar. just out of curiousity, why would i have to wait for a while to add kribs?

i noticed i said the tank has been running for 2 weeks, i meant to say i have had fish in the tank for 2 weeks!! the tank has been running for 6-8 weeks and has been fully cycled for about 3.

think i'll get 2 females then, probably the safest bet! i have never kept cichlids before so any advice would be much appreciated!!

thanks

Oh right. I said wait because I thought that the tank hadn't been up for long but now I understand. You can get them hehe.
Kribs are really easy to keep. Just give them clean, good water, flake food and the odd treat of bloodworm and they'll reward you with there great personalities.

thanks for your help! probably get them tomorrow then, going to post some pics aswell!! cant wait!

will they be ok without any live plants!?? my tank is well planted using silk imitations, cant see it being a problem because i do regular water changes and i've got a really good filter (tetratec EX 700)

thanks a lot mate!
