If I were to buy a small fresh raw filet of salmon or any fish for that matter from my local grocery store and break it into small chunks would it be ok for my fish to eat? Would that be a treat for them or a no no?

First ingredient of most fish food is fish ;)

Tiny nibbles should be fine, you don't say what fish you have though, I wouldn't put chunks in unless you're sure it'll get eaten, and make sure you remove any uneaten stuff.

I suppose it would be okay if there's no additives. Check the label ;)

lol what a waste - pop that sucker in a pan with some butter!

You can indeed fed fish to your fish.

It should be raw and you want to feed sea fish to your freshwater fish, and freshwater fish to your marines. That way you don't risk introducing any diseases or parasites, as the fish you're feeding will be raw. So you don't want to be feeding your freshwater fish salmon, you want cod or whiting or something like that.

Most fish (I've never met one that didn't) love prawns too.

I have 2 swoardtails, 2 platys, 20 glowlight tetra's and 6 panda corys in that tank.

I will ask the clerk behind the counter, they have the fillets all on display ready to buy.

I have been known to toss my dinner in the trash when my hubby orders fish, absolutely turns my stomach just to see it. I can't handle the smell, look or imagined taste of it. Sounds strange on this forum but nothing can turn my stomach faster than looking at fish on a plate :D

Well what you should do is get some cod and dip it in some batter. Then you can't see it :hyper:

Salt, vinegar, a few chips...

Mmm, that's what I'm having for my tea josh
