Can I Add More Fish Yet?

Your doing good, definately leave old filter, it cannot do any harm at all, especially when you do start adding more fish. Is your test a one or two bottle ammonia and nitrate, IMO the two bottle (API master kit) are more reliable.

The ammonia is a 2 bottle kit, the Nitrite is a 1 bottle and the Nitrate is 2 bottles. It is a Freshwater Master Test Kit. It also does high and low range Ph.

Thats the same one I use, is pretty accurate then. Carry on your getting there!!

keep the old filter in and stick with it for a few days.

Bloody typical, just checked my fish and 1 of the neon looks a bit strange! To be honest it doesn't look ill or sick but pregnant? The tummy is quite big but the colouring on it is fine and it is withthe rest of the group and they look fine, don't think it is neon tetra disease? all the other fish still look fine.

Just tested my water again and the results are as follows:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitarte 20

The fat looking Neon tetra is still fat don't realy know what to do with it? all the other fish are healthy and loads of small snails are in the aquarium too, Any ideas on getting rid of them? don't really want to add more chemicals so would prefer another method, been told to try and get a Yoyo loach??
