Fish Crazy
I have a 180l coolwater community tank to which I'd like to add some hillstream loaches, aka borneo suckers, stone suckers, stone loaches... they have more common names than any other fish I've ever known
Problem is that they like fast-flowing, well oxygenated water, which I would initially be providing with a 400lph air pump through a single large airstone, plus the agitation from the filter outlet (large external canister filter). I would also possibly like to add some form of directional flow with a powerhead or something, haven't quite worked that one out yet but I imagine it would introduce even more oxygen.
My question is, would my plants still thrive with that much oxygen about? I have several Elodea Densa and Cabomba Caroliniana, a Vallisneria Gigantea and a couple of Chladophora Aegagropila (moss balls). All are growing very vigorously at the moment and seem healthy. They were chosen for their hardiness and ability to survive cooler temperatures so I can only hope they're hardy enough to survive a bit of 02 as well?
